About the Trip

During this trip you will visit a beautiful farm just 2 hours from Jakarta, about 1,000 m above sea level near Mount Salak. BSP Organic Farm grow their vegetables and fruits organically & uses pristine water directly from one of the Mount Salak natural spring water (their location is at the top end of the forest bordering the national park so there is no water contamination & pollution). You will stay at a farm stay accommodation – simple, homey, clean, but with the amenities such as hot water.

This is a special tea-making workshop/sharing session which will be facilitated by Ibu Ira Tucker:

My tea making journey started purely by accident, and it has opened up a whole new exciting world. It combines all the things I am interested in, from aromatherapy, the science and growing of plants, preparation of food and the art of creation which would vary from time to time. Introducing various permutation which would affect the end result. A final product which is also good for one’s health. Like wine tasting, tea tasting is very intriguing as the tea is affected by the weather, the altitude, soil and the surrounding flora. On this workshop, I will share with you the preparation and making of green, white and black tea from freshly picked leaves.

Itinerary

Day 1
Meeting point at Kartika Chandra Hotel at 3.00PM. We will drive to BSP Farm for approximately 2 hours. Arriving in BSP Farm, Special Liwetan Dinner will be served! Free time after dinner.

Day 2

Wake up early in the morning to catch the sunrise and we will pick tea leaves at the tea plantation, along the way before breakfast.

After breakfast, we will walk around the farm to see various vegetables being grown – kale, broccoli, carrot, lemon, aragula, and more. After that, we will begin our tea making workshop & sharing session by Ibu Ira Tucker, and of course, we can taste the tea as soon as it ready.

We will have a delicious lunch, which is prepared by our cooks and includes delicious Indonesian traditional meals. Most ingredients are organically grown at the farm. After lunch, we will have free time which you can spend with walking alongside rice paddies fields. We will depart back to Jakarta at 3.00PM and arrive in Kartika Chandra around 6.00PM.
